Prophetic Corners, (International Biennale) Curator: Anders Kreuger Site project in old Turkish Bath, Iasi, Romania Here, contemporary painting is used as a vehicle for claiming physical space and communicating an attitude through "incomplete" gestures. The artist uses the denuded brick walls and partly yellow-tinted windows of the Turkish Bath to create an assemblage of semi-transparent painting, semi-ideographic writing and a semi-informal display of drawings and small objects. The installation, designed to be seen against the light, features the words of a poem by Thomas Mediodia. The project was realized with the help of Elena Bornea, Radu Prepeleac, Catalin Moisa and Florin Mocanu. The artist's travel to Romania was kindly supported by The Westerly Trust, London.
